Beekeeper with a smartphone is the job of the future that combines traditional beekeeping, new approach in increasing yield of fruit and vegetable crops by means of bee pollination and little knowledge of computer science. And it is a completely new job.
How can a traditional beekeeping change from nowadays’ honey production to the service on pollination and processing big data in combination with artificial intelligence? Who can be “a beekeeper with a smartphone” and who and what is the emergence of a new service waiting for?
Oleh Klochko, co-founder of the project Amohive, will tell about it in detail during the First conference of the series “Increase of profits in agribusiness”, which will be held on 29 October in Kyiv at the international exhibition AgroComplex 2019. Organizer of the conference is agro-media agency SAPIENZA.
In his lecture Оleh Klochko will tell about the unique development by the group of Ukrainian and Polish engineers who managed to create a real network of “Apiaries of the Future”. Here each “smart beehive” is equipped with electronic IoT devices that transmit information about life and productivity of bees to beekeepers’ smartphone around the clock and throughout the year.
“Apiaries of the Future” allow creating an absolutely new market in Ukraine – a market of pollination of fruit and vegetable crops which will help to increase yield and quality. Its effect is estimated as of 1 billion dollars for Ukraine annually according to various sources.
